I had a day off yesterday with the family.
It was nice and chilled, so why am I sooo tired today?! :(
It’s because of this little monkey, that goes by the name of Gracie…
Don’t let that cheeky face fool you, she keeps us up all night with her non-stop partying!
It would be nice to have some proper sleep again (a few more months to go yet).
It’s things like sleepless nights that knock your mojo.
Makes me wanna sit in front of the box and watch back-to-back episodes of Hawaii 5-0 with Mrs W.
Yep, even I suffer with “hypo-mojo-ism” from time to time and it seems that a lot of people that read my daily nuggets of wisdom do too.
I often get comments from readers, like…
“Gavin, I’m really struggling with my mojo. Yesterday, I didn’t even make it out of bed.”
Now, some people will try and heal a broken mojo by starting a whole new exercise program or entirely new diet plan.
This might work for a while. BUT if the fundamental things in your life that are attacking your mojo stay unchanged, this is just papering over the cracks and won’t last for long.
An easier way is to focus on what I like to call “The Rule of ONE”.
You change just one thing at a time.
For example, let’s say your diet has gone to pot…
Rather than trying to give it a complete overhaul (which can be a pretty daunting task), focus on getting just one meal back on track.
Start with your breakfast.
What food will help you reach your goals and that you can have for breakfast every morning?
Focus on that one meal and you’ll slowly start to feel your mojo come back.
This could take a few days, a week or maybe a wee bit longer.
When you’ve got that meal sorted, move on to the next meal and so on.
And the great thing about starting with a small change is that your motivation doesn’t have to be sky high to get started – but you’ll be surprised at how quickly it picks up when you start to feel the sense of achievement at having successfully changed that one thing.
As you see your body changing and feel your health improving your motivation will increase and you can make another small change…and another…and another.
Before long, all those changes that were so daunting when bundled together, you’ll have nailed!
So my challenge for you today is to implement my RULE OF ONE:
Pick a meal and make sure that meal is a healthy one every day this week.
The key to long-term success is not to over-complicate it.
Got it? :)
P.S. I’ve just filmed this short video about the RULE of ONE also…
