The nod is something every man has in his possession.

It’s in our genetics.

Something only grown men truly understand.

You see, a nod to a lady is often misunderstood and greeted with a blank look followed by “weirdo”.

*For this reason the nod is best used between men.*

The only acceptable response to a nod is another nod.

If you speak, you have broken the point of such a gesture.

It’s a sign of acknowledgment.

A mark of respect.

My father-in-law likes to give a wee nod to other classic car enthusiasts.

I’ll often dish out the man nod to a neighbour.

Used as a simple “hello” when neither us wants to be overly sociable.

The nod of acknowledgment is by far the best.

It perks you up.

It’s a pat on the back for a job well done.

Do you know what else perks you up?

**Chocolate**

I bet you didn’t see that one coming?

Mind you, I’m not talking about Chunky Kitkats or Mars Bars here.

I’m talking about the good stuff, raw cacoa powder (one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet).

Okay, so it’s not strictly chocolate – yet.

But you can make lots of chocolatey goodness from it.

And the best bit, it’s easy peasy.

If I can do it with my 2 year old daughter, you can do it too!

Here’s what you’ll need…

[checklist]
  • 100g raw cacao butter
  • 6 tablespoons of  raw cacao powder
  • 2-4 tablesppons of Sweet Freedom or Honey
  • 1 small pinch of rock salt
[/checklist]

And here is how you put it all together…

1. Place the raw cacao butter in a bowl over a pan of water on a low heat and melt gently.

2. Once melted add 6 tbsp raw cacao powder and mix well using a metal ballon whisk.

3. Ensure the heat is low and add the Sweet Freedom / honey and mix well.

4. Taste the mix once melted and add more sweetener if you prefer a sweeter taste.

5. Once completely melted and blended remove from heat. Your mixture should be runny and easy to pour.

6. Pour or spoon into ice cube trays, silicone moulds or even platic tubs to make raw chocolate bars.

7. Throw in some other ingredients to jazz them up if you want to e.g. peanut butter, vanilla extract, chilli, orange, etc

7. Place in the freezer and leave to set for 20 mins to half an hour or in the fridge for around 2 hours.

Bish, bash, bosh…guilt free chocolates all round.

Now that deserves a nod!

Before I go, I thought I’d tell you something else…

You look lovely today :)
